I bought this product 5 weeks ago and have had nothing but trouble from day 1. The first 4 days everything froze in the refrigerator. After that the temperature started to rise. We adjusted the temp control lower and lower. The temp went higher and higher. We constantly contacted LG customer care. They told us that someone from service would contact us to set up a service call. After the fridge reached 70 degrees and everything had been thrown out that we had purchased we returned the item to the place of purchase and bought another brand. After the return someone from LG texted telling us there is no service person in our area. I will never buy another LG product again.

Terrible product and even worse customer service. I purchased my refrigerator in 2021. In March of 2024 the Linear Compressor failed. We learned through this process and through a simple online search which I wish I had done prior to purchasing the refrigerator that LG has had issues with their compressors to extent that a class action lawsuit was filed. When our compressor began failing we contacted LG customer service as we were advised that this particular part will still under warranty. LG sent a contracted repairman to service our refrigerator. At first he could not figure out what was wrong despite the noises our refrigerator was making but eventually concluded that the compressor was failing. He placed the order for the part and a few days later he came back to install the compressor. The installation job resulted in a chemical leak throughout my home. We lived with this for 2 days as we were assured by the repairman that this odor was normal. Days later after we restocked our refrigerator based on his assurances our refrigerator did not cool and our food spoiled. We called LG back and advised them of the issue and requested that they send a new repairman and that we needed to be reimbursed for our food loss. They took note of this and put in a ticket for a follow up repair. Despite our request for a new repairman they sent the same repairman who told us that the cap he installed as defective. He replaced that part and went on his way. Days later after we restocked the refrigerator again it still would not cool resulting in more food loss. We called LG and advised them of this ongoing issue and requested a follow up. They once again sent the same repairman. He advised us that he needed yet another part. We continued to complain to LG through what was clearly a call center abroad all they kept saying was that we have to wait for this part to arrive. After nearly a month of no refrigerator multiple complaints and food spoiling on 2 occasions a NEW repairman finally arrived and concluded that another part was not needed but that a hole had been punctured in our refrigerator. Furious at this point we contacted LG and demanded a food compensation due to their faulty part and contracting with incompetent repairman. Ultimately the compensation provided was $300 which is the maximum they are authorized to provide regardless of how much food you lost time spent on this issue and exposure to chemicals. I even escalated this matter to the presidential liason and they refused to budge. Please take the time to research issues with LG compressors before purchasing their product.

Great fridge but poor warranty

Bought this fridge a year ago it has been great until recently when a month after the 1 year warranty expired the right door constantly popped open slightly when you close the left door. In a family with 3 kids Im now constantly closing the fridge door. Opened a ticket and support tells me its no long eligible for warranty and sends me a few generic links. The fridge needs a much longer warranty Im never buying LG again unfortunately.

Fridge life- 3.5 years

I bought my fridge on June 6 2020 for about $2000 and just 2 weeks ago on Jan 10th 2024. The fridge started to have error code and stopped cooling. I have only had it for about 3 years and 6.5 months and I ended up have to replace it. I first contacted a local repair technician and got a quote that the repair will be $1200. This was ridiculous. And then later I contacted LG they said that the error code was not part of the warranty so I had to ask someone to come out to pay for the inspection to determine if they would cover it or not. We got a technician out and reported back to LG with no luck. When I was calling around to consult with different technicians they all shared that LGs fridge has this common issue and recommends us not to get LG fridge in the future. We ended up bought another fridge with the brand many technicians recommended. Do more research before you buy a fridge. I didnt enjoy the feeling of buying a new fridge so soon. I was hoping to have at least 5 years of usage.

Broken after 3 years

I have owned this refrigerator for 3.5 years. On Christmas Day I noticed water was pooling from the water and ice fill area on the fridge. I was unsure why that had happened. Thought maybe it was kids making a mess. A few days later I noticed the food wasnt as cold but we have had a reoccurring issue with the fridge door not closing all the way. Again the fridge is only 3.5 years old so to assume it was broken seemed like a stretch. By New Years Eve I had moved all the food from my fridge and contacted LG for warranty repair service. I lost most the food in the refrigerator as it was reading the temperature to be normal and nothing wrong with it. I put a thermometer in the refrigerator and it is now showing 80 degrees. Neither the refrigerator or the freezer are maintaining temperature. It had stopped working and was completely defrosted. It is now Jan 16th and we are still waiting on someone to come look at our refrigerator. Someone is scheduled to come today but LG has not been persistent in getting our problem resolved. Our technician canceled a week ago and rescheduled for today. Its taken LG 17 days to get someone to our residence for warranty repair. Also all the food spoilage plus having to eat out so much. The food comp they offer is $200 assuming we even get it. Do I recommended this refrigerator? No this has been our worst appliance purchase.

Love the extra ice maker for parties

I bought frig in 2019 and liked the look functionality of it. However the compressor went out after 4.5 years luckily we purchased the 5 year warranty so its back up running. The only con I feel is that the right side of the door doesnt seem like the magnet was strong as the left side. When i asked the tech he said that was normal not sure how true that is. I mean it still closes but feel like the magnet should be stronger so it feels like it is sticking not easy to pull. Other than that its all good.

Compressor failed

Bought this frig 3 years ago. The compressor went out 4 days before this years Thanksgiving. I called lg they said they would send a repair tech. It took 8 days. Then the line crimper didnt work properly so coolant leaked off. Again another week before repair tech came back. It took 17 days to get it fixed.

I bought this refrigerator a year and a half ago and for a pretty penny to the tune of 3200.00 and within the first 12 months I had issues with the freezer making this loud noise from ice buildup around the motor. Also from day one the ice had a funny taste to it. The fridge was brand new so I have no idea why and still today theres a weird taste to it just not as distinct. I think the look of the fridge attracted me to it but its not worth the money I paid for it.

Great features love the door within door concept.

Bought it 1 1/2 years ago. Most important to me is ability to see reach everything. Its also a very attractive appliance. Only problem weve had was the circuit board had to be replaced the tracks for freezer door also as the door would only open halfway. The problems were dealt with by LG with no charge parts or labor.

Its a great fridge

This fridge is great and has good features. I love looking into the fridge through the glass without having to open the fridge. Its very cold and freezes well. Only recommendation Id make is to get the warranty as long as you can because these newer fridges things can go bad much sooner than expected.

We inherited this refrigerator when we bought our house. Weve had repeated problems with the ice makers. The one in the door frequently needs to be unclogged. We quickly learned never to use the crushed ice feature that was an instant ice jam. The refrigerator builds up ice on the back wall of the freezer makes an ugly noise and then the ice makers quit working. Have to pull out the freezer drawers chip away the ice and hope the error code clears. The extra door in door feature is quite frankly just a waste of space. Never would I ever buy an LG.

I love the refrigerator especially the see-thru door. The freezer ice maker has never worked properly. It frosts up horribly. The phone techs are difficult to understand and it took a lot for them to auth a local tech. Maybe tmrw it will be fixed. Idk.

The interior of the fridge is terrific and the door in door feature is helpful. Unfortunately the fridge has leaked since we got it and LG cant seem to help us without us paying more money because it isnt a manufacturing error. The water dispenser leaks and the freezer line leaks creating a large sheet of ice in the freezer bottom drawer that doesnt allow the door to close. We have to break up the ice regularly. We have defrosted it a few times without luck and the most recent Help Chat was professional but directed us to defrost it again which hasnt worked to date.

The primary concern relates to the recurring message dH F displayed on the refrigerators interface which necessitated several costly repairs. Multiple service providers listed on your website upon learning about the error message expressed their reluctance to address the problem citing its prevalence among new LG models. I am compelled to write this review because I firmly believe that I should not have incurred any of these significant expenses for a relatively new refrigerator. As loyal customers who have purchased various LG electronic appliances over the last 15 years we expected a more reliable transparent and straightforward resolution to this issue. We followed all of LGs suggestions diligently relying on the information provided on your website and by your representatives and yet we encountered considerable challenges frustration and unnecessary financial expenses along the way.

It did a great job up until the other day. After only 4 years the compressor went out loosing all my food. LG covered it under warranty however it took them over a week to come out and fix it so I lost all my food and no compensation. I found out that their compressors only last 3 to 5 years. However to be fair most of the other refrigerator companies have the same problem. Other than the compressor this has been the best refrigerator that I have owned.

Somewhat disappointed with qualification

Our refrigerator is not yet three years old and we are experiencing issues where we are seeing dH F defrost error code. Since we started seeing the code the first time it has reappeared every 24-hour period following a reset. Initially the temperature inside the refrigerator was well below what it should be 60- and 27-degrees F respectively. LG Support responded well and provided warranty service via National Platinum. The service person did a very good job checking the and defrosting the device replacing the defrosting element that he believed had failed. Since then the temperature inside the refrigerator has remained at target at least until the dH F error reoccurs. As long as one of use remains at home to reset the refrigerator following the error we are good to go but not a good place to be if we want to go away for a few days. On top of that no one likes having to respond to issues with an critical appliance. I recognize this could be just one of those times and not be a chronic condition of the model. If National Platinum can accurately diagnose and fix the issue under the warrantee agreement we will be most pleased with the refrigerator we selected and just put the experience behind us. We will also increase our overall rating.

I am not exactly sure which interaction I am reviewing. We started having issues with our refrigerator three or more weeks ago. We contacted a local company before reaching out to LG. That turned out to be a mistake. After spreading 50 minutes on the phone with a CS representative we got a repair order number and subsequently and an appointment with National Platinum within 7 days. The gentleman that came to our home was very nice and appeared to know what he was doing. He reviewed the possible errors on the circuit board and the coils. We were getting an error code dH F indicating the defrost process was taking longer than expected. Although one of the steps we took was to defrost the device for 24 hours based on how much ice was on the coils it wasnt enough to complete the process. After the coils were completely defrosted the refrigerator appeared to run and keep the temperature inside at the ride level. Within 24 hours the code dH F appeared again and continued each day. We resent the refrigerator each time and notified support via the LG ThinQ app. We did get a response following the long weekend. We got another repair number and was contact by Platinum National within a 24 hours and scheduled for another visit within a week. The person I spoke to yesterday was not as though nor complete as the person Edward last week. The tempature is being maintained at the prescribed level but although I am hopeful I am not confident we will get what we need to keep the refrigerator running without event.

Purchased 19 months ago and the compressor went bad and in less then 24 hours everything thawed and was warm it was only opened onceam Took three days to get new compressor installed. I was just pleased it was under warranty and will wait to see how long this compressor lasts.

Love my new 22 cubic foot refrigerator

This is the best refrigerator I have ever owned and I am retired so I have owned many other brands over my lifetime. The fridge space is set up in a way that seems larger than my last fridge of the same size and also allows easy access to every corner The interior lighting is very good and with my eyes is greatly appreciated. The Insta View window provdes a quick view of contents and also provides quick access to frequently used items stored behind the Insta View door without opening the entire door providing energy savings. Two ice makers are also a nice feature and we have not run out of ice like we did with our other fridges. This is great for entertaining and my wife who makes fresh brewed ice tea almost daily. Plenty of room in the freezer. The display panel is intuitive and the ThinQ technology provides info on my iphone which is a nice feature to have. The exterior with the well designed display panel ice/water dispenser and Insta View door has enhanced the overall look of our kitchen. This is a great refridgerator and I wholeheartedly recommend this fridge to anyone.

Customer service is zero stars. Called and spoke to three people and nothing finally a manager and we stated that after a fridge runs for a week we are to break the welds I screw the mounted drip pan to clean it then weld it back making sure we are careful to keep the system sealed when we do this and reattach the drip pan. The leaking of the poisonous gas is standard. Its a butane gas that lag seems to think is okay for humans to breath.
