Compressor died less than three years old. Lost all of my food and had to eat out 2 meals a day for over a week. Took over two weeks to get the refrigerator repaired. thankfully the weather turned cold and we used a cooler outside to be able to eat at home again.

Bought Feb 2023. Was suppose to get a free extra year of warranty but both LG and Home Depot wont honor 2nd year. Right after installation the ice bucket kept filling with water and ice was small and freezing together. Tech came out and found water tube broke causing water to spray all over. After almost 2 years the repair done with duct tape failed causing the water line to freeze up. Thawed the water line and found a rubber nipple to fit over break. Now makes ice better than ever. Too soon for Freezer problems

Other than dinging easily I was very satisfied with this fridge. Easy to clean and organize food in both fridge and freezer. Unfortunately the freezer stopped working on Christmas Eve. Three away a ton of food and prepared the rest that I could save. Since that day its been on and off. Were fairly diyers who will research the issue before determining a broken diagnosis but after many attempts to reorganize the freezer clean out and repair the issue keeps returning. Next step is calling LG repair. We Have only had for 4.5 years it seems too soon to have an issue like this.

I like the size and the look of this fridge. When it is working properly it does the job well however it stopped working 3 years after purchase. I called LG Service and the issue was still covered under warranty. The service was fine quickly and I havent had any issue since so although having an issue after 3 years was not expected the service experience was easy.

Customer Service disaster

I purchased this fridge 3 years ago and then compressor and control panel already failed. If this wasnt enough getting LG to come out and service the unit was an absolute nightmare. The tech no-showed on us customer service agents lied to us and it took over 2 weeks to get our fridge up and running again. We lost hundreds of dollars worth of food and thousands of dollars of time off work dealing with this nightmare. I will never buy another LG product again.

Great Money Disappointment

I purchased this product 3 years ago.I hope that this isnt a waste of my time and that someone will read this and actually care Never thought the compressor would die that early. LG was quick to replace as it was warranted. However after the 24 hours which we were told to give later fridge was making very loud vibration noise. It was so loud I called LG and the women on the phone heard it. Anyway tech.finally came out a week later and checked all the cycles and according to him there wasnt anything wrong.The noise kept happening called LG again Tech was scheduled again the appointment was scheduled for morning and the fridge was making the noise I couldnt wait for him to get here to hear it well the appointment time passed and no technician came. He would of heard it. After the phone call to find out why no show customer service told us that the technician took it upon himself to cancel and said he wasnt coming back out because there isnt anything wrong with it. Next technician came out and he did check everything he possible could inside for vibration noise that I recorded. And now we still have to live with this very loud noise that lasts about 2 to 3 hours. Anyway I will never buy this product or recommend this product to anyone We were also informed that the compressor in these are problematic.

This fridge is great for storage of many things except bottles. Freezer space and ice maker are excellent but the shelves cannot be configured to stand up a 12oz beer bottle that isnt shorter than normal. Very odd they built a fridge this way. Door storage is ample. The refrigerator died on us but LG stood behind it and besides the 2 week process to have it repaired it works as good as new and they gave us $300 to cover food loss. Compressor and circuit board both had to be replaced free of charge as it was still under warranty.

Dead fruit flies inside of the refrigerator

Our house is newly built house in July this year. We started to get dead fruit flies INSIDE the brand new refrigerator a week after purchase. We did not have any fruits and vegetables on the counter but deep cleaned the refrigerator and house and treat drain with chemical and kept it closed all the time. However we found more dead fruit flies even after cleaning and it got uncontrollable after 2 months. We contacted the best buy and they sent us a technician and he recommended us to exchange it to different one but best buy did not want to do anything because it is after retun window. We contacted LG warranty team and they schedule for technician but never showed up and found out that they canceled my case because they needed pest control certificate. We called pest control company and paid $150 to inspect and they gave us a letterwhich says they cannot find any flies all around the house except the refrigerator. We usually found around 5 dead flies inside everytime we opened the refrigerator and when we left the refrigerator door closed longer we have more dead flies found inside of the refrigerator. Last week we went on 1 week vacation the refrigerator door was closed for a week and we found 100s of dead fruit flies INSIDE the refrigerator when we got back. To get this many flies inside of the refrigerator our house should be full with flies but we had NONE throughout the house. We provided all the pictures and pest control certificate to LG and they finally sent us a technician today but he said he does not know why this happened. He kept saying this is environmental problem even if we have pest control certificate shows our house does not haveany fly problems. He cannot answer my question about how and where they can come in??? LG said they cannot replace or refund because it is not manufacture defect. They keep saying this is not their problem. It is clearly manufacture defect because 100s of dead flies should not be found INSIDE refrigertor any circumstances. I have never had any dead flies inside of other refrigerators that i have owned before. We deeply disppponted to bestbuy and LG and will never purchase product from them. My husband and i are so mad and frustrated and will dump this disgusting refrigerator tomorrow. PLEASE DO NOT BUY THIS REFRIGERATOR UNLESS YOU WANT 100S OF DEAD FRUIT FLIES INSIDE OF YOUR REFRIGERATOR

Fridge Works Warranty Customer Service Very Rude

Ive had this refrigerator for a couple of years now and it works fine enough ice maker is pretty quiet. But when the compressor died and I had to put in a warranty claim with LG I was told by the rep that any spoilt food would be reimbursed after the repair was complete. On call back the next agent said no was rude I asked for a manager she was even more rude laughed at my request refused to give me her managers name or email I report to no one etc. I had to google the CEOs the Presidents email addresses to get what I was promised. I got replies from them immediatly but I shouldnt have needed to do that. So decent fridge horrible horrible LG customer service.

We purchased our LG Refrigerator in December of 2021. Late September 2024 the unit stopped cooling. I immediately knew the compressor had gone out. I contacted LG Warranty since I have 5 year warranty on the compressor. It is now week 3 and the refrigerator is still not fixed. We lost about $300 worth of groceries that had spoiled and we are still without a date on the repair. Updates would be nice but they fail on that end as well.

No water filter - Why

We bought this unit because it was simple and want all the extras But what we didnt realize is it did not come with a water filter system and had to install an external filter and tubing. After a little over a year it started making loud thumping noises and the ice maker wouldnt dump the ice. After phone calls to LG the issue continued. Plus it caused water to seep out and get under our flooring. In turn we had to replace all our flooring in the house. Plus trying to find someone to repair it is another problem. The noise continues when the ice maker freezes up and it will actually wake you up during the night if you dont turn it off.

What company makes a refrigerator with an ice maker and then does not add a filter?? LG Never again will I purchase a LG appliance. This was not communicated to us and now that the ice is tasting bad its just tough luck on our part unless we spend a bunch of money to have an outside filter installed. Horrible waste of money on this refrigerator and I do not appreciate the deceptive practice.

It is poorly made. The shelf molding fell off. We were sent a new shelf and was no better. The doors do not aline. Tha molding on one door ripped causing mold on both doors and water leaking on the floor. Repair and new molding is $300. The unit is 2 yrs old

I cant believe I bought this refrigerator new with 3 other appliances 3 1/2 years ago and the compressor quit. Took a 9 days to get a new compressor installed. In the meantime I lost a couple hundred dollars worht of food which I now have to replace. Had a cooler in my front hall keeping ice packs in there but still a real hassle. When the parts came in the local appliance people did a good job.

Upsides and Downsides

This refrigerator has worked fine for about 3 yrs. We like its configuration and space.Then the compressor died. It took 9 stressful days to get a technician to our home to find out what was wrong. The technician analyzed the problem and worked hard for at least 2 hrs replacing the compressor. He was very polite and efficient. Fortunately the repair was covered by the Warranty. We are relieved that the refrigerator is now operational and we hope that it will function well for a long time. Our previous refrigerator lasted 24 years.
