I bought this fridge and just 2 months after the 12 months from date of purchase the freezer fan stopped working. I called lg for help and they said they cant help me. I had to pay an outside person $600 to fix it for me. This product is NO GOOD and the LG service is NO GOOD

Craft ICE will stop working

Would be 4 or 5 if the craft ice hadnt died right away. About a year after purchase craft ice stopped working. Will cost a few hundred to repair and its apparently a common occurrence. I bought partially because of the craft ice.

Disappointment. LG doesnt correct defects

Disappointed with 3 items 1. Water filter connector has a defect where I cant change the filter. LG will not fix the defect. Costing me hundreds of dollars to correct. 2. Can only make 4 round cubes per day. 3. Ice in door machine constantly locks up.

Since I purchased this refrigerator I have had problems with the indoor icemaker as well as the craft icemaker. I have had to have repairs done every several months. The last time a trained LG repairman replaced the compressor.

Had the product for 20 months. Ive had to make several calls to customer service for various reasons. Got a CF error code on the door display and on the app meaning the condenser fan wasnt working. Had a service call and was told the fan and compressor needed to be replaced. When the tech went to order the parts - LG told him to rebuild the unit as the evaporator would fail in the future. 4 different parts have been delivered to my house and the tech is bringing 2 more to completely rebuild the refrigerator. I contacted LG to ask for a refund or new unit and was told the unit had to be fixed and no refund or new unit would be approved. I asked that my warranty period be extended and was told that was not an option either. I know they dont make them like they used to but I would certainly expect it to last more than 20 months and NOT have to have parts replaced. Hoping the dishwasher I recently bought from LG doesnt have the same kind of problems. Will not purchase another LG product.

We have many LG appliances and this is the first to use a warranty contract. We purchased at Lowes and an A+ for service We paid zero for the repairs

Bought in November 2022 and have had to call LG several times with problems. Craft ice maker not working - that problem was fixed with a phone call. A couple of weeks ago I called about several different noises. A clicking sound and another I could hear in my whole downstairs. Then I get a CF error code. Condenser Fan not working so they are sending a technician out to look at it in 3 days. Love that its sends me messages through the app for water/air filter change time and error codes. Hate that Im having major problem less than 2 years in. 8 calls to customers service is 7 too many. When I called about the cf code I also asked if they could add a seal check because there doesnt seem to be enough suction on the French doors. I was told after the CF error problem is fixed I can call back to request service on the door seals. Seems to me having the technician check every thing in one visit is more efficient. Guess Ill be making a ninth call Thursday.

Known defects do not buy

Ice fan went out after 16 months of normal use just outside of warranty window. Ice maker and water dispenser will not work without the fan. LG is not helping with repair and wants $250 for a replacement part or $400 to have a technician come out and fix. LG knows about this problem with this fridge but continues to sell it. Buyer beware seems like a good deal up front but you will pay for it in the long run.

Buyer Beware- Craft Ice Maker a Problem

I bought this refrigerator 2 years ago and already had to replace the craft ice maker. The technician said it happens frequently and we were lucky it was the first time. Im concerned as the warranty runs out the expense to repair this machine. These models are not cheap and I expected more from LG. I like the refrigerator and hope that it lasts a while but only 3 stars because of repair so soon.

Great disappointment

I bought this fridge years back mostly for the craft ice feature. The craft ice machine after about two months started failing to function correctly and make a jack hammering sound at all sounds of day or night as it tried to break open the ice mold and dispense the craft ice. Eventually the unit broke completely from constantly trying to function unsuccessfully.

If you want a reliable ice maker in your fridge do not buy this product. My craft ice maker had to be replaced just after it was out of warranty and the regular ice maker no longer works Ive been trying to get a call back from customer service got the past two months without success. The refrigerator works well once you get the hang of closing the French doors.

Throughout the almost 2 years of ownership we have had several problems with our ice makers. Some of the issues have been with the internal ice maker which we had to already have replaced at one point. Today May162024 the external ice maker is not producing ice. The refrigerator has been fine.

Problematic Freezer

While Im happy with the configuration of the refrigerator and freezer after previously owning a side by side during the year and a half Ive owned it the freezer stopped working for a day or two melting ice cream and defrosting meat only to restart again on its own making it unreliable.

Ehhh...a lot of repairs

I really like this fridge. Its a great size and I like the counter depth..however...I have had it less than 2 years and already have a major issue. Since its over a year LG will not cover it and now having to spend several hundred dollars on repairs. This after it has been making LOUD fan noises for months. So loud it was keeping the house awake from multiple rooms over. I tried a local repair man and he said he did not work on the LG products as they consistently needed repair. Not sure if I would go the LG route in the future.

Love this fridge Hoping it lasts forever

My husband and I bought this refrigerator about three years ago and we really love it. The layout is great. Makes perfect sense for the way and types of food restoring. We love having regular easy ice and we really love having fancy craft ice. It is a party trick my husband loves to pull serving friends drinks over the fancy round ice. We did recently have the craft icemaker break which was annoying. However LG got us a replacement icemaker for free. It was super easy to install and were back up and running with the fancy ice. Love the fridge hope that breakage isnt indicative of anything to come and that it lasts forever.

Both Ice Makers Replaced

I bought this refrigerator about 18 months ago have had to change the filters twice and recently had both ice makers regular and craft replaced. To the credit of LG a repair person was sent out under warranty and replaced the ice makers at no charge. We do like the overall function of the refrigerator/freezer.

Ice Maker Broken

Sadly the ice maker quit working at 18 months and despite spending $3000 on the fridge the warranty covers nothing. Worst refrigerator Ive had and would not purchase an LG again. They do not stand behind their products.

Never Buy LG Refrigerator Ever

I purchased this item a year ago and began experiencing numerous issues. Recently upon consulting a technician regarding the ice maker problem they advised replacing the compressors condenser Fan Motor and Ice Maker. Seriously? This product is only a year old yet all its major components have already failed. I wont recommend it to anyone and will avoid purchasing any LG products in the future.

Replacing a Craft Icemaker

I recently replaced the Craft Icemaker in my LG refrigerator. The replacement icemaker came with a new filter and full instructions that were very clear. I was able to successfully install the new icemaker. It took 48 hours for the new icemaker to produce the ice balls that we love. The help provided by an LG agent on the phone was very welcome

Love the fridge craft ice maker struggles if its working. The fridge is great love that its not as deep flexible shelves and light. Airflow and freshness are great. Freezer is pretty good with a couple layers of drawers. Alas craft ice maker had a good run but seems to have died. Getting LG to respond to repeated repair request via app has been just shy of infuriating.

We love the refrigerator nicely lit shelf that retracts vegetables and fruits stay fresh for a long time in the drawers fresh water and ice door dispenser. Love the freezer with the sliding drawer. However we keep having issues with the craft ice dispenser. Sometimes it doesnt release the ice and then fills the dispenser with water over the top of the ice still in the dispenser causing the water to overflow into the ice tray.

The ice maker :

Great fridge but the ice maker has given us trouble just before the warranty went out. We tried to reach out LG and twice they said they were sending a part. Never received it. So now we have a pretty fridge with no ice maker. The craft ice maker is fine its just the ice maker that makes ice to come out of the dispenser. A service call is $150 and then a part and I dont feel like investing another 2-300 dollars makes sense. Oh well. Be warned.

So far we have loved this refrigerator. Very quiet and with very even cooling in the refrigerator and the freezer compartments. The ice maker is wonderful and the craft ice maker is a real bonus and is very cool Plus it looks great in our kitchen. The thin q app and monitoring of the refrigerator is a real bonus.

Cant reset the filter lights on the door

I would give it 4-1/2 stars but have always had trouble resetting the water filter light. Every six months I had to call LG. After about 15 minutes on the phone and trying many things it finally reset. Now however we couldnt get it reset and the air filter now wont reset either..which is a first. I do not want to pay for a service call so both lights are always. The other thing that Im not happy about is that one must be careful closing the doors to make sure the doors are sealed. If the doors are not opened correctly when closed the seal on the left side will need to be opened manually so that the door seals. Otherwise I love the fridge.

No Craft Balls

Overall design and idea is good. Dont depend on the craft ice maker. Horrible Repaired 3 times in first year and a half. Fills freezes and gets stuck. Ice balls do not eject from mold. The first 2 repairs were within the 1 year warranty period. Third was on me. Now we just dont use.
